We go through great measures to ensure that our rats lead full and enriching lives. We provide critter nation brand cages for our rats, unless they are heavily pregnant, nursing, in quarantine, ect. Their enrichment includes more than just snuggles, pets, and free time. We also take supply hammocks, hides, ropes, lava ledges, pom-poms, pipes, ladders, dig boxes, foraging toys, and a wide variety of toys.

Hammocks are available to buy, or make! We make our own hammocks with fleece

Rats love to destroy their beloved toys, so we make many of our own! Fleece pom-poms, with or without cat toys attached, fleece vines, or fleece strips all provide cheap entertainment that they can chew and enjoy!

Paper towel rolls hung in different fashions provide very cheap toys to destroy! You can add treats or hang them plain, rats can rip and chew them to their heart's content!

Lava ledges are wonderful for helping use what may otherwise be unused cage space. When placed in a high traffic area, like under a water bottle, or set in a "staircase" fashion, they can help file those sharp rattie nails.

Foraging toys are a great source of enrichment. There are ways to make variations of foraging toys, but a few sturdy versions are worth buying as well. These are perfect for dry items such as cheerios, uncooked noodles, uncooked oatmeal, occasional dog food, ect.

Our babies who come from other ratteries receive a necessary quarantine period. During this time they still receive all the same enrichment, in a separate air space from our main rattery. Our ratties are always quarantined in at least pairs, as we don't condone single rats.

Each cage has a nice deep bin to encourage natural foraging behavior.
